Also, just a side note, the beaches here in germany are clothing optional.
And my host family fully seizes that option. Needless to say, I saw my host my naked. I can't even describe how much that changed the wayI look at her.
Buuuuut being the modest American I am, I kept on the clothes. Naked sun bathings just not for me I've come to find out.

Ich Liebe Dich

photos of flensburg

Host sister and JP

I'd like to start this blog by apoligizing for my late responses on emails, I'm working off a home computer that is not only all in german but has dial up internet, so things are very slow. But anyway, Today me, my host sister, and her friend JP all went to flensburg ( The city about 20 minutes from me) It was very very pretty and had great shopping.

But before I went there I was getting dressed and about to straighten my hair, So i go over to my converted outlet and plug in and turn on my straightener. I wait a couple moments for it to heat up and begin to straighten my hair, but i instantly smell a foul odor and see lots of smoke. So i look at my straightener and its smoking from the inside! Then i look at my burnt and sizzled hair and feel it, as I do it breaks off into my hand! So i unplug the straightener but its still smoking and smelling terrible! So i go over and put it in the floor but then it burns the catrpet, and that smells. Sio i then just hold it in my hnad for about 30 minutes till its done. then i opened all the mindows and doors and have since been trying to air my room out.

Also, I bought makeup remover and a new pair of tweezers today.

They have no WiFi at the house, so im have to use the house computer and its not very..new. But none the less the village is beautiful. its very small and mostly farms. but the houses are amzing! like out of a faitrytale. and my typing is terrible, the kleyboards are different.

Ill post more later, imsorry

You never really realize all that you have until you have to break it down into two 50 pounds bags.
Packing is a nightmare, how am I supposed to know what I want to wear 6 months from now? Should I bring this pair of jeans or that one? This t-shirt or that sweatshirt? Subistute more underwear for those shorts?
I'm driving myself insane! I leave in three days and I'm still dizzy with decisions.

Just an update.
Seeing as though I'm leaving in a mere 10 days for Flensburg, Germany I figured I should get this blog up and running.

In Flensburg I'll be staying with a family consisting of a Mother (Heide), Father (Michael), Three sisters, Friederike ( 19 ), Johanna, and Katharina, Two brothers Alexander (13), and Torben (17). Oh yes, and a Grandmother.

I'll be arriving at 10:40AM on Monday, August 25th in the Hamburg airport.

Wish me luck!
